About hay fever

Allergies that affect breathing and the airways are caused by inhaling (breathing in) allergens, e.g., grass pollen, from the air. Hay fever is the everyday term used to describe allergic rhinitis, which are allergic reactions in the eyes and nose that are triggered by any type of pollen, including grass pollen. Left untreated, allergic rhinitis can cause daytime fatigue, sleep problems and adverse effects on attertion span and working memory.

The symptoms
If you have a grass pollen allergy, you may experience symptoms such as a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, and itching, which can be accompanied by watering and itching of your eyes during the grass pollen season.

Grass pollen allergy is becoming more and more common worldwide and 1 in every 8 people in Europe suffers from an allergy to grass pollen.
